After a hard day of treating the many visitors to Carolyn's clinic, the staff and I finally have a chance to relax and take some time for ourselves.  As soon as the last patient is either locked in the box or tied to their bed, we adjourn to the Clinic lounge for some well deserved rest and relaxation.  The only computer at the Clinic is located in the staff lounge area and one of our favorite pastimes is surfing the internet. Since we have often been asked what some of our favorite sites are, we have finally put together a list that the Clinic staff and I feel is appropriate to share with our visitors.

We have often stated that humor is an effective treatment for some of the Seti at Home related problems that we see here.  It is only appropriate that part of our list deals with web sites that we think are funny.

Humorous Web Sites:

First on the list is http://www.loskene.com/singalong/kirk.html   Turn up the speakers and get ready for a true musical experience.  We recommend that you check out "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "Mr.  Tambourine Man" as sung by William Shatner but don't forget to look at the Mr. Spock page as well.

One of the Clinic favorites is the Monty Python web page at http://www.montypython.net/fullsounds.htm which includes many of the sketches and songs from the original show like the Lumberjack song and the full "Dead Parrot" sketch.  This site  has clips from Fawlty Towers as well.

For a truly strange, and funny,  web site, be sure to check out http://www.kibo.com/  The Kibo web site is  like nothing you have ever seen before.  Be sure to take a look at Kibo's photo gallery of orange construction cones.

Dave Barry in Cyberspace is one site that we like to visit often.  To view it, go to  http://www.randomhouse.com/features/davebarry/word.html  Due to the recent interest in emoticons on the newsgroup, be   sure to check out the page where you can make your very own emoticon and enter it in the sweepstakes.

Microsoft meets Star Trek. What a treat.  We offer two pages for you to visit.  The first is at http://www.panix.com/~acohen/msfed.html  and the second at http://www.cs.bgu.ac.il/~omri/Humor/WindowsTrek.html  We wonder how they got him to pose in the Star Fleet uniform, though.

Music Web Sites:

Looking for the best songs of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's?  Look no further.  Go to http://www.wwsamuellreunion.com/ronindex.htm  Be sure to check out Jimi Hendrix and AC DC along with many others.  We couldn't have picked a better list ourselves.

Lookiing for the worst songs of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's?  Go to http://www.wwsamuellreunion.com/tinaindx.htm  The staff and I couldn't believe that we agreed with almost every song on the list.  Don't forget to hear the classic "Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road" .  The staff will be on call in case you can't stop humming some of these forgettable classics.

Web Sites that You Can Learn From:

bullet

Setiweb at http://setiweb.org/  is the site to go to for all kinds of information.  The staff and I have become somewhat addicted to checking the current solar data for the day.

Another good site with solid news and data can be found at Patch-free-Processing http://home.hccnet.nl/a.alfred/p-free-p.html    We, at the Clinic, are still waiting for an explanation for the various screen shots of  signals that have been sent into this site.

We will update this list periodically as new and exciting web sites are found by the Clinic staff.
