Once you have become "hooked" on running Distributed Computing projects, you are likely to find yourself becoming easily bored with your current program. Your need for a "fix", a new program to work on, compels you to start trolling the internet in a never ending search for new and more interesting projects.
Since the list of reputable Distributed Projects is limited, you may find yourself lowering your standards and attempting to run a project of dubious scientific value. We have provided a list programs that we found some of our patients were reduced to running right before they checked into the Clinic for a long rest. If you are running one of these programs, you need to recognize that you are in the grip of IDCPM syndrome. Please seek help at the Clinic before it is too late.
