There have been many questions in the newsgroup about over clocking computers .   The Clinic felt that we should do some research into this issue, since many of our visitors and patients have admitted to using this technique to try to speed up their production of work units.  After an exhaustive study of the available information, we have put together a report which scientifically documents the effects of this dangerous technique.

Dangerous Fact No. 1:  Over clocking can produce a process within the computer called "Electro-Migration" which, if left unchecked, has the ability to slowly erode the earth's magnetic poles as illustrated by the pictures below.  Recent sightings of polar bears in Florida are an example of the horrible effect that this can have on animals, who use the magnetic fields to guide them during migration.

Dangerous Fact No. 2:  Over clocking  requires  huge amounts of voltage, which has resulted in the electrocution of hundreds of individuals over the last five years who were not properly trained to repair these systems.   The tremendous electrical requirements also generate a corresponding amount of heat  which cannot be totally controlled no matter what additional equipment is installed  to handle this problem.

Dangerous Fact No. 3:  The combination of heat and electro-migration can cause metal atoms to wander under the passivation  layer which leads to whiskers on metal components.

Dangerous Fact No. 4:  The continued over clocking of a computer system over an extended period of time can actually cause the breakdown, at the molecular level, of all metal parts in the system.  

Dangerous Fact No. 5:  The Clinic has found proof that  when this practice becomes widespread within neighborhoods, it has the ability to change the normal weather patterns within a five mile radius of the over clocking cluster.

Dangerous Fact No. 6:  Since over clockers are now prevalent around the globe, The horror of over clocking has actually become the number one cause of global warming according to the latest scientific data.

Dangerous Fact No. 7:   According to computer projections which predict conditions well into the next century, even if all over clocking were stopped tomorrow, there is a 30% probability that the global warming will spread into outer space creating a rip in the fabric of space time similar to a worm hole.

Dangerous Fact No. 8:   Many over clocked systems start out at  66MHz, which is really 66.66666.  This, as everyone knows, is clearly the mark of the devil.
